Valentina Shevchenko and Katlyn Chookagian are tied with Gillian Robertson over one UFC Flyweight record
UFC 255 had some incredible fights with Valentina Shevchenko and Deiveson Figueiredo defending their respective titles.
While Figueiredo got his win over Alex Perez in impressive and quick fashion thanks to a first-round guillotine, Shevchenko took a different route.
The Bullet took her time to wear down Jennifer Maia and got the unanimous decision in the end. This was Shevchenko’s fourth straight title defence and she racked up her six win in the UFC Women’s Flyweight division too.
The Bullet is now tied with Gillian Robertson on the top of the list but there is a third person also on six wins.
Katlyn Chookagian was also in action at UFC 255 and she was up against the rising star Cynthia Calvillo. However, it was Chookagian that got an impressive win as she kept pace with Robertson and Shevchenko.
Shevchenko and Chookagian had battled in the past and it was The Bullet that got the win at UFC 247.
It will be interesting to see if Chookagian gets a second shot at the Bullet but no one seems close to stopping the 32-year-old.
Maia started brightly against Shevchenko and even had her in trouble but in the end, it was The Bullet that put on a great show.
Shevchenko also spoke about an MCL injury she had which led to her missing action for a while but she is back and looking great.
This seems to be a great time for the Shevchenko family as Antonina, Valentina’s older sister also defeated Ariane Lipski on the same card.
This was the first time two sisters were on the same UFC card and there will be some celebrations at the Shevchenko household tonight.
