UFC’s Kay Hansen wasn’t even born when 60-win star Aleksei Oleinik had 7 wins to his name

Kay Hansen and Aleksei Oleinik were both in action at UFC 273

UFC 273 had a lot of storylines going into the event with the two title bouts grabbing the most attention.

The other big talking point was seeing how the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev would do against former UFC Welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns.

The main card had a lot of surprises, especially in the title fights, but a different storyline came out on the undercard.

UFC 273 saw two stars on the opposite ends of their careers having fights. Kay Hansen, who is only 22, was in action against Piera Rodriguez. Aleksei Oleinik, who is 44, took on Jared Vanderaa.

While one star’s career is just gaining steam, the other might be thinking of hanging up his gloves sometime in the future.

However, the big talking point in all this was that Hansen wasn’t even born when Oleinik won his seventh MMA fight.

This was in May 1999 when Oleinik went 7-1 while Hansen was just born in August 1999. Credit must be given to Oleinik for continuing to perform at the highest level and he had much to celebrate after UFC 273.

Aleksei Oleinik gets another win

The Russian picked up an incredible 60th professional MMA win after defeating his rival at UFC 273. The 44-year-old was on a three-fight losing streak coming into UFC 273, but he got a submission win over Vanderaa.

Hansen, on the other end, suffered her third consecutive loss. This was a unanimous decision one to Rodriguez, but the 22-year-old has a lot of time to work on her game.

Hansen started her UFC career with an impressive win but has gone 0-3 since. Oleinik, on the other hand, might have turned his form around, and it will be interesting to see what is next for him.
