UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler has expressed his interest to fight Nate Diaz, after his recent tweet that called for a fight on 30th July
UFC superstar Nate Diaz was seemingly pumped after the UFC 274 card, and released a series of tweets that ranged from blatant insults to fired callouts for a fight.
The ‘Stockton Slugger’ has been sidelined since UFC 263 last year, and is raring to go after a break of one entire year. In the process, he has called out Vicente Luque, and most noticeably Dustin Poirier in the recent past. However, UFC president Dana White has reinstated that they are not looking forward to setting up that fight, and has other plans for Diaz- Khamzat Chimaev among them.
Diaz posted a tweet saying, ‘ July 30th 170lbs’
Michael Chandler initially responded by suggesting that he’s willing to make a quick turnaround to fight one of the biggest names in the game. He said,’ I’m there. Quick turn around. Spin your head on its axis. @natediaz209‘
It is famed by now that Diaz brothers have a bad reputation for being difficult people to work with, and nothing is assured with them, up until they signed the dotted line. Miffed by Diaz’s constant complaints raised towards the UFC top brass, Chandler tweeted in exasperation saying, ‘ Hey @natediaz209 …shut up and stop complaining. Keep your mouth shut. Keep your head down until your daddy books a fight for you to get your sacrificial dome bounced off the canvas again. Maybe it’ll be me…if you’re lucky. See you at the top!’
Conor McGregor responds to Chandler’s knockout
Following his spectacular knockout win at UFC 274, Michael Chanlder called out for a welterweight fight with the biggest superstar in the game, Conor Mcgegor. Chandler has always been respectful in his callout of Conor McGregor, even in the past when the ‘Notorious’ took notice of him. But this performance in particular grabbed the undivided attention of the Irish Man, and he responded to the callout on Twitter.
He was mighty impressed by the suggestion of a welterweight fight and said, ‘ I’d have a nice knock off this guy, no doubt about it. A firework spectacle. I like the 170 shout also. Tipped him over. I’m definitely game to fight this guy at some stage in my career. I see it happening after tonight. Congrats on a solid win Michael and another barnstormer.’
