Henry Cejudo had retired from MMA in 2020
Henry Cejudo is ready to make a return to the MMA circuit after his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, confirmed that Triple C would be entering the USADA drug testing pool.
Cejudo is a former two-division UFC Champion and held the UFC Bantamweight and the Flyweight titles. However, Triple C, as he is called, decided to retire from the sport in 2020.
This came as a shock and it took place after he defeated Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. Cejudo has been busy making other media appearances during that time and even started his own podcast with The Schmo.
However, he has constantly brought up his desire to return to the Octagon and possibly fight for a third title. Cejudo is regarded as one of the greatest combat sports athletes ever, and Kelvin Gastelum, seemed excited for the same.
Cejudo has made it clear he wants the Featherweight title and has often targeted Alexander Volkanovski.
The Australian is the current UFC Featherweight champion and made light work of his opponent, Chan Sung Jung at UFC 273. Cejudo returning to win a third division belt would be historic, to say the least, and he would be a great rival for Volkanovski.
The Australian, however, might have to face former champion Max Holloway as Holloway was his scheduled opponent at UFC 273 before picking up an injury.
Cejudo also brought up how Volkanovski was responsible for him to return to the world of MMA.
However, Cejudo will have to wait at least six months before he gets a fight in the Octagon. Those are the USADA testing rules, and it is to be seen if he gets a title shot on his return or has to fight someone before getting Volk.
