Kevin Holland was to face Jack Hermansson in next week’s Fight Night event but is out after testing positive for Covid-19

The UFC Fight Night event for next week was thrown into chaos as Kevin Holland tested positive for Covid-19.

The Trail Blazer was to fight Jack Hermansson in the main event of the card. However, that won’t take place as Holland needs to recover before getting back into the Octagon. Holland was on a four-fight win streak coming into this but he was in good spirits despite missing out on a fight.

The 28-year-old posted a video on social media and claimed he was doing fine and though he just had a common cold.

He also claimed he felt like a “million bucks” and was ready for a fight soon too.

UFC work fast again

Holland vs Hermansson isn’t the only fight that has been affected by Covid-19. This nights card was supposed to be Curtis Blaydes vs Derrick Lewis headlining the show but Blaydes also caught the virus and that fight was cancelled.

However, Hermansson will still fight next week as the UFC moved quickly to save the main event. Rising star Marvin Vettori replaced Holland and the American wished both the stars well for their fight.

Credit must be given to Hermansson and Vettori for accepting the fights on such short notice, and this main event isn’t all that bad either.

Holland vs Hermansson could have been for a shot at the Middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. Hermansson has also spoken about how he sees the division and how he could get the better of the champion.

Adesanya is undefeated in his MMA career and wants to win a second belt in the UFC. He is to face UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jan Blachowicz for his belt but Izzy should be ready for a top contender soon.
