Khamzat Chimaev might have defeated Gerald Meerschaert but that didn’t impress Kevin Lee

Kevin Lee doesn’t seem to be a fan of the latest UFC star that Dana White is so chuffed about.

Gerald Meerschaert was the latest test for Khamzat Chimaev, however, the Swede made light work of his rival.

Chimaev won the clash in about 17 seconds and needed just one punch to knock out the American. This took the Swede to three straight UFC wins and 9-0 in his MMA career.

The great thing about Khamzat has been how dominant he has been in the UFC. Each win has been a finish and his rivals also cannot seem to catch him with serious hits.

White seems to love Chimaev, however, Lee wasn’t all that impressed. Chael Sonnen, a UFC legend, has also spoken highly of the Swede but Lee took exception to that.

Chimaev has some grand plans as he faces Demian Maia next, but this tweet from Lee could help the American get a crack at the Swede later on.

Looking to get back to winning

Lee came into the UFC with a lot of steam and put on some great performances. However, ever since he lost to Tony Ferguson at UFC 216, the American has struggled to record back-to-back wins.

He is 4-2 in his last six UFC fights and his previous outing didn’t go too well too. Lee was defeated by Charles Oliveira and the American also missed weight in this fight.

It will be interesting to see what happens next with Lee. He still is a talented fighter but his performances haven’t been the greatest in recent fights.

Chimaev, for his part, is enjoying an incredible start to his UFC career. He could be a future champion in the making and a couple of more wins could get him a crack at UFC gold.
