Khabib Nurmagomedov wants his good friend Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Manchester United amid transfer rumors surrounding the football icon
It is apparent by now that Khabib Nurmagomedov is a die-hard football fan. The undefeated mixed martial arts legend has claimed many times in the past that he prefers watching football over any combat sports in the world.
Manchester United’s season filled with turmoil continues to worry fans even though the club has seen its fair share of star signings and managerial replacements. Cristiano Ronaldo made a sensational comeback to Manchester United this season and he has single-handedly carried his team to victory after major slumps on various occasions.
Rumours were making the round last week suggesting the Portuguese star might very well be on his way out of the club, hardly a year after making the much talked about comeback. The Red Devils are yet to win the domestic league since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club way back in 2013.
Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this week, Khabib said that he shares a very cordial relationship with Cristiano and he always had first-hand news when it came to transfer news about the football star.
He said, “This is not his best age but even now, the way he plays, he affects the team very well,’ Khabib added. ‘His energy, his experience, his advice.”
‘I’m going to talk to him. I remember when he moved from Real Madrid, he told me a couple of months before he moved.
‘When he moved from Juventus, the same. But I never tell the media! I’m going to ask him [about his future at Manchester United], I’m going to ask him.
He distinctly expressed his desire of wanting Cristiano to stay by saying, “Honestly, I want him to stay. Honestly, that’s what I want. If you ask for my opinion, I want him to stay.”
He also eloquently spoke about his experience meeting Sir Alex Ferguson, Usain Bolt and Patrice Evra. ‘The Eagle’ said that he gather inspiration and knowledge by speaking to successful people and points out the championship mentality they all commonly share.
Khabib Nurmagomedov sat down with the Nelk boys for an episode of the Full Send podcast and touched upon his fighting career, his relationship with his father and his role as the promoter of Eagle FC.
Jake Paul claimed in his interview with The MMA Hour that he’s willing to challenge himself against Khabib and believed his striking is superior to his. When asked about the challenge, Khabib hilariously dismissed Jake’s chances by saying that it will take him just a couple of minutes to finish Jake.
Khabib said:
“Come on Jake Paul, I don’t think so. In MMA, (I’ll win in) like couple of minutes.”
Khabib, who is famously known for his humility has always stayed true to his words and given his honest opinion whenever it mattered. Khabib also touched upon his latest role as the promoter of Eagles FC and discussed his plans for the future.
‘The Eagle’ also discussed the hassle of being famous and how his father’s values have kept him grounded and centred. The entire episode is available on Youtube.
