Ali Abdelaziz and Khabib Nurmagomedov discuss fighting techniques after Islam Makhachev’s UFC 259 win

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Ali Abdelaziz were talking about fighting techniques after Islam Makhachev fight

Islam Makhachev made a very solid impression at UFC 259. The lightweight fighter took on Drew Dober and won comfortably via submission in round 3.

After the fight, Makhachev gave a delightfully cocky interview where he said that he could have exchanged strikes with Dober, but opted to go ‘the easy way’ and wrestle.

And in the backroom, Makhachev’s team was discussing fighting techniques as Makhachev returned victoriously.

In the video recorded by Zubaira Tukhugov, Ali Abdelaziz, who is the agent of Khabib Nurmagomedov, is seen exchanging blows with a teammate.

He is showing the audience how to strike a fighter’s head after a takedown. You would doubt that the lightweight champ with a 29-0-0 professional MMA record would need that lesson.

But he probably wanted it to impress the others around him with his fighting knowledge. That was not really the case as everyone seemed to see the funnier side of things.

And Tukhugov himself asked Ali if he is a fighter or a manager, which did not quite please Abdelaziz. He sat down and played off the situation as if nothing had happened.

Ali has a 1-3 MMA record and is probably not the guy they would want to be learning fighting techniques from. Nevertheless, it made for some fun viewing at the Egyptian’s expense.

After his UFC 259 win, it seems as if Makhachev has his eyes set on the next fight. The Russian called out Tony Ferguson and said he wanted to help him ‘retire’.

Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov are teammates.

Those are some big words considering how dangerous ‘El Cucuy’ still is inside the octagon. But that is how you make your way up.

And the lightweight division is probably the most competitive and star-stacked out of all weight class in the promotion.
