Khabib Nurmagomedov recently became the owner of Eagle Fighting Championship
Following his retirement from the sport of mixed martial arts in October 2020, Khabib Nurmagomedov began actively getting involved in the business side of things in the sport. Just a month later he showed an active interest in purchasing Gorilla Fighting Championship.
He bought the promotion as planned and renamed it to Eagle Fighting Championship. The promotion is turning out to be a success under the ownership of the Russian, in fact, it has gained a lot of traction since Khabib bought it.
Khabib recently took to social media to announce the date for the upcoming EAGLE FC event. The event – EAGLE FC 37 is set to take place on the 18th of June in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
He captioned the post:
“Almaata, we are here. See you at @eaglefcmma on June 18th.”
Khabib has also got a busy July ahead of him, as he is set to coach his fellow Dagestani brothers in various MMA promotions, notably Islam Makhachev against Thiago Moises on the 17th of July in the UFC.
The EFC 37 card is headlined by a lightweight bout between EAGLE FC president Shamil Zavurov and Ricardo Tirloni.
Zavurov who has a record of 39 wins and 6 losses, is riding a hot win streak of 4. The veteran mixed martial artist is well known for his infinite gas tank.
The other fights in the main card include a featherweight bout between Akimzhan and Avdal and a bantamweight contest between Malyutin and Musaev.
