UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov seems to be a huge fan of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Russian shared a collage of Ibrahimovic from his performances at several clubs. The Swede has featured for some of the biggest teams in the world and has scored in almost every big derby he has played.
Ibra is 38 but he is still going strong. He is currently back in Italy playing for AC Milan and is still scoring for fun.
Khabib’s collage featured Ibra scoring for Manchester United, Juventus, Inter Milan, PSG, Ajax and Barcelona.
The Swede has also scored goals for the LA Galaxy and has tons for the national team too. While Zlatan is considered as one of the greatest to play the game, Khabib put up the moniker ‘The beast’ for the 38-year-old.
The UFC star would know a thing or two about top athletes in the world, but he has a big clash waiting in the wings.
While Italian football has plans to return soon and we should see Zlatan in action, the same cannot be said about Khabib.
The Lightweight Champion is stuck in Russia due to the coronavirus, and will only return later in the year. Khabib takes a few months after Ramadan off to get into shape, and he has a big clash on his hands.
His replacement for UFC 249, Justin Gaethje, picked up the interim title against Tony Ferguson. Now, we should have a unification bout between Khabib and Gaethje soon.
The American was the slight underdog against Ferguson but dominated El Cucuy for almost the entirety of the match.
Khabib vs Gaethje might not have the same appeal as Khabib vs Ferguson. However, no one can take the American lightly after his UFC 249 performance.
