AKA teammates Khabib Nurmagomedov and Luke Rockhold put in some hard wrestling rounds together at the gym
Ever since his retirement, Khabib Nurmagomedov has adopted the role of a coach and MMA promoter since. Khabib retired undefeated and undisputed with a 29-0 record on top. The famed Khabib pressure, his domination and laurels inside the octagon come by the virtue of his handwork and discipline in the gym.
Luke Rockhold is preparing for a fight against Paulo Costa, while Khabib is helping his Dagestani MMA team ‘Eagles MMA’ fighters prepare for their fights. Khabib is one of the toughest coaches in the game today as per AKA’s head coach Javier Mendez, who supervises the training regime.
In the video Khabib can be seen applying top pressure to a visibly bigger Luke Rockhold. The Dagestani established a dominant side control, and while Rockhold tried to break through with an escape sequence, Khabib quickly whizzed in to grab his wrist- top-notch chain wrestling which is every grappling lover’s delight to watch.
When Rockhold finally got to his knees momentarily, Khabib was right with him like a moth to flame, and used his elbow and top pressure to put Rockhold on his back again. This beautiful chain of sequence remined fans how truly elite Khabib is, and he’s still got some tricks up his sleeves.
Post their training Khabib spoke to the camera man and said, ‘If Sambo was easy it would be called jiu-jitsu. No, if Sambo was easy it would be called Luke Rockhold. Ask Luke what happened today [in training].’
‘What about other guy?’- Khabib Nurmagomedov is baffled by the Cain Velasquez court verdict
The following day of Cain Velasquez’s arrest, a report from The San Jose Mercury-News disclosed that Velasquez shot at a car comprising three individuals – including 43-year-old Harry Eugene Goularte, who had recently been accused of molesting a close relative. Velasquez apparently chased their truck and rammed his own truck into the side of their before firing several shots, one of which struck Goularte’s stepfather in the arm.
Back in March after roughly 25 minutes of prosecution by both sides, Judge Shelyna Brown denied Velasquez bail. He will remain held at the Santa Clara County main jail after Judge Brown called his alleged actions “reckless” and stated “the risk is too great” to release him. Velasquez is due back in court on April 12.
Since then, Velasquez has been denied bail twice after the man he’s accused of shooting back in February claimed he suffered serious injuries in the alleged attack.
Former UFC lightweight champion and fellow teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov was completely puzzled by the verdict, and stated that if anyone needs to go to jail, it should be Harry Goularte.
Nurmagomedov completely understands Velasquez’s reaction, and despite it being careless and dangerous, Nurmagomedov doesn’t think it means Velasquez is a danger to society.
“Anybody in the world who respects himself, who loves his family is going to do same thing, exactly,” Nurmagomedov told TMZ. “Come on, nobody is going to think of law or something when you have something about your family. You have to protect your family. If animals protect their family, of course, humans are going to protect their family.
“They talk about law court about jail, but I don’t understand these things. This is not fair. He sit in jail and other guy is outside. What about other guy? Put this guy in jail too. He’s more dangerous for people than Cain Velasquez.”
