Khabib Nurmagomedov was happy for Kamaru Usman as he annihilated Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261.
Usman was just unstoppable at UFC 261 as he ran through Masvidal in just two rounds, to earn his 14th consecutive win in the UFC.
The talking point of the night was the Nigerian’s striking, as a straight massive right hand rendered Masvidal as stiff as a board.
Despite Usman going into the fight as the favourite, there were many who gave Gamebred an outside chance, since he looked more confident than ever due to a full training camp. Another reason being; their fight at UFC 251 going the full five rounds, despite Masvidal accepting it on just 6 days notice.
But Usman made sure it was his night and boy did he do it in style.
Among the people in attendance was Usman’s family. It was a very emotional moment for Usman’s father since it was the first time he was seeing his son live, after serving a 10 year prison sentence from 2010-2020.
Usman made sure his dad was proud as he wrapped the belt around his waist after the victory.
Elsewhere, UFC Lightweight GOAT Khabib Nurmagomedov was very happy for Usman, as he took to Instagram to re-share a post from UFC Russia which showed the elated father of Usman.
It is worthy to note that, both Khabib and Usman are managed by Ali Abdelaziz of Dominance MMA Management.
Popular podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan slammed people who called Kamaru Usman ‘boring’, calling them idiots.
There has always been a widespread hatred against Usman because of his fighting style. Once he realizes he is in trouble, the Nigerian Nightmare brings his wrestling skills to the fore and takes the fight to the ground.
However, Usman makes sure he gets the job done every time, but often at the expense of certain fans calling him unentertaining.
In the recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan addressed the people calling the champ boring. He had the following to say:
“Anybody who says he is boring is an idiot. You gotta be an idiot to think that guy’s boring.”
Contrary to such people’s opinions, Usman’s last two fights have been more entertaining than ever. He knocked out an explosive Gilbert Burns at UFC 258, despite being rocked massively, early on in the fight.
And, yesterday he had reached elite levels of striking, as he knocked out a man with an iron chin.
