Khabib Nurmagomedov has some big future plans after retiring from the MMA world

Former UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has hinted big things are on the way after his retirement.

The Russian shocked the world after defeating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 and defending his Lightweight title. Khabib then retired from MMA at the spot and even left his gloves in the middle of the Octagon.

The Eagle is considered as one of the greatest MMA athletes of all-time and Khabib ended his career with a record of 29-0.

This was his first and last fight without his father, and Khabib had promised his mother he would stop after UFC 254.

While the Russian broke down right after the result, he has already thought about his future. His coach had suggested that Khabib could now turn his attention into finding the next big MMA talent, and Khabib too hinted at some big plans in the works.

The Russian posted a photo from Abu Dhabi and confirmed he has a big project coming up.

Khabib was with one of the royal family members of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and it will be interesting to see what he has in mind.

Abu Dhabi has become a haven for MMA over the years and Fight Island is further proof of the support the sport gets from the capital of the UAE.

Khabib the greatest?

The Russian retiring at 29-0 also opened up a huge debate on if he is the greatest of all-time. Ending a career undefeated is something of a rarity in MMA and Khabib has vanquished all of his opponents without major issues.

However, he didn’t have too many title defences during his time as UFC Champion, and that has been a bone of contention from some quarters.

This era of MMA is different from that a few years back, but there is no doubt Khabib will go down as one of the greatest ever.
