Islam Makhachev and Beneil Dariush are expected to headline UFC Fight Night on the 26th of February, 2022
Islam Makhachev will face a tough challenge in the form of Beneil Dariush when the pair take centerstage on the 26th of February next year.
The news was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN after multiple news sources confirmed the same to him.
Both the fighters have been on hot win streaks.
While Makhachev is on a nine-fight winning streak and unbeaten in more than 6 years, Dariush is on a seven-fight winning streak and has not lost in almost 4 years.
Makhachev is coming off a stunning first-round submission win over Dan Hooker at UFC 267.
Dariush, on the other hand, last beat Tony Ferguson fair and square, via. unanimous decision at UFC 262.
A win here for either of the two will most certainly put them in reach of the title next, since they are ranked number 4 (Makhachev) and number 3 (Dariush) respectively.
