Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed he was left limping after wrestling UFC featherweight Zubaira Tukhugov
Khabib Nurmagomedov is arguably the greatest lightweight of all time. The Dagestani had no equals during his time in the UFC.
Following a submission win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in October 2020, Khabib hung up his gloves.
Known for his immaculate wrestling abilities, Khabib recently revealed in an interview with RT Sport that he was left with limp following wrestling session with UFC featherweight and fellow Russian Zubaira Tukhugov.
‘The Eagle’ was first asked about a fan-encounter, wherein Khabib can be seen heading towards a lobby as a fan tries to approach him. The Dagestani can be seen walking with a slight limp.
Clarifying about the same Khabib said:
“Not at all, at least I hope not. It was just a fan who wasn’t let in. He saw me leaving and ran up to me. He tripped but I didn’t see it. He was behind me. I hope there was no knife. Things like that happen, everything’s OK.”
He then went on to reveal the reason for his limp:
“That day…We wrestled in the morning, right? I got a little injury from wrestling Zubaira Tukhugov. Things like that happen, everything is OK.” [RT SPORT YouTube]
Zubaira Tukhugov last fought at UFC 253
Zubaira Tukhugov is an impressive featherweight. The Russian has an MMA record of 19 wins and 5 losses.
He last fought Hakeem Dawodu at UFC 253, against whom he lost via. split decision.
Tukhugov is currently expected to face Ricardo Ramos at UFC 267 on the 30th of October, 2021. The fight was initially scheduled to take place in March 2021.
