Khabib Nurmagomedov predicted that he would go undefeated years back
UFC lightweight legend, Khabib Nurmagomedov, bowed out of MMA with a clean 29-0 record which saw him lose 0 fights.
The Sambo master started his professional MMA journey in 2008, and in a career that lasted 12 years, managed to win 29 straight fights.
This included 3 straight title defences since he got the belt at UFC 223 against Al Iaquinta, with his last fight coming against Justin Gaethje in October 2020 at UFC 254.
And what makes that feat even more impressive is the fact that he predicted this outcome for himself more than 5 years back in 2015.
Khabib hosted a Q&A session on his Twitter account on April 25, 2015, which was, of course, a time when the hype around ‘The Eagle’ was in its nascent stage.
He was 5-0 in the UFC at that point, with his latest victory being against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on Fox 11.
One fan saw the light pretty early on and mentioned that it was only a matter of time before Khabib became the champion at 155 lbs.
He went on to ask how long does Nurmagomedov think his title reign will last, to which Khabib responded by saying that he would retire undefeated.
And that he did. His next fight after that tweet was almost a year later against Darrell Horcher in April 2016.
he then went on to win the next 6 fights after that before calling it quits in October 2020. It is now official that Khabib has retired from MMA and it is next to impossible to see him fight again inside the octagon.
