Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov is a massive football fan
It has been almost 8 months since Khabib Nurmagomedov hung up his gloves, and almost 3 months since his official confirmation of the same.
The Dagestani has been trying his hands at different things, ever since announcing his retirement. He has been coaching fellow Dagestani fighters across various promotions, trying his hand at football, actively promoting the Eagle Fighting Championships and whatnot.
Several videos of Khabib have emerged which show the Russian playing football with his mates. In fact, Khabib himself posts a lot of footages of himself scoring some slick goals.
In a recent Facebook Q and A session, Khabib answered several questions about football. He revealed that he has been receiving offer from small football clubs, but claimed that he needed to get ‘football fit’ for that.
Khabib also divulged that football was and will always be his first love.
“A lot of football clubs, they offer me [a contract]. But I have to, a little bit, become football shape. Because football shape is a little bit different than MMA [shape]. When you have to fight in MMA and you have to play in football, this is two different [things]. But I don’t know. If some clubs offer me [a deal] and they make me an interesting [offer], I’m going to accept this…This is my childhood dream…I love football…this is my first love.”
Khabib is a big fan of Spanish footballing giants Real Madrid. Arguably the greatest player during the 1990s and one of the greatest players during the 2010s have both represented the glorious club – Ronaldo Nazario and Cristiano Ronaldo.
‘The Eagle’ claimed that both were his favourite players, but Cristiano Ronaldo was the best player in football according to him.
Then he went on to drop some serious ‘stats’ knowledge about Ronaldo, as he had all of CR7’s record at his fingertips.
