Khabib Nurmagomedov married Patimat in 2013 and the couple have three children
Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently in Almaty, Kazakhstan. His fighting promotion, Eagle Fighting Championship just had its 37th event.
‘The Eagle’ is known for his elite virtues and values. In fact his retirement itself is a true reflection of Khabib’s integrity.
Staying true to his mother, the Russian hung up his gloves following his win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.
More recently, prior to EAGLE FC 37 event, Khabib took time to answer a variety of questions.
In an interview with RT Sport, the Russian shared some valuable life lessons as to how he would bring his children up.
He was quoted as saying:
“I- as a Muslim- do my best to raise my kids as true Muslims. Not just in terms of ethnicity- because their parents are Muslims, but in terms of their beliefs. They should understand what that means to be a Muslim- according to Islam. I think, even in this hall there are representatives of different religions and nationalities. My religion is Islam, I am Muslim and I want my kids to be Muslim as well. Monotheists, those are the fundamentals we believe in.” [RT Sport YouTube]
It is worth noting that Khabib has three children – a daughter born in 2015, and two sons born in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
Khabib Nurmagomedov reveals if he would switch to professional football
Khabib has an immense love for the beautiful game. During his free time he spends most of his time on the football pitch with his teammates.
In the same interview with RT Sport, Khabib spoke about a possible switch to a professional football career.
While he did express his desire to play in the English Premier League, he explained 33 was too late to have a future in professional football.
He was quoted as saying:
“If I were to play, it’d probably be in the Premier League[English]. Not the Russian one, in England. I’m almost 33, I don’t think I have a future in professional football. But, I want to get involved in football. I have some projects in the works, maybe I’ll create an academy. I am working in that direction and I think you’ll hear about it soon. As far as playing, you probably understand that going pro at 33 with no amateur background and being an anchor in a team’s roster isn’t desirable- professionals play there.” [via RT Sport YouTube]
‘Coach’ Khabib is currently preparing himself for a busy month in the United States, since a lot of his Dagestani mates are set to feature in various MMA promotions.
