Khabib Nurmagomedov recently turned down an offer to fight Floyd Mayweather
Khabib hung up his gloves in October, last year, and officially confirmed his retirement 5 months later. Thereby, he put to rest all possible talks of fantasy fights with various combat sports legends.
However, the offers keep rolling in for the Dagestani. In a recent episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz divulged that ‘The Eagle’ was offered a massive $100 million to fight boxing great Floyd Mayweather, which the lightweight GOAT turned down.
Khabib himself opened up on this in a recent interview with RT Sport.
While Khabib did say that he received an offer to fight the boxing legend in Saudi Arabia, he didn’t know if the sum was $100 million.
“The enticement is always there. There were such discussions with Saudi Arabia. They wanted me to fight there. I don’t know about $100 million. That was not the exact amount, but [somewhere] around that.”
Khabib is currently busy with his coaching duties, as he has got several fights to coach for the month of July. His fellow Dagestani brothers, notably, Islam Makhachev, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, have fights coming up in July.
Floyd Mayweather is just a week away from his exhibition boxing fight against Logan Paul
Floyd Mayweather will be taking on YouTube sensation Logan Paul on the 6th of June in an exhibition boxing match. The match is set to be held in Hard Rock Stadium, Miami.
A lot of bad blood – after Jake Paul, Logan’s brother made things between Logan and Mayweather personal. Jake stole Mayweather’s hat at the first pre-fight press conference, which had Mayweather and his entourage all over the Paul brothers.
Badou Jack and Jean Pascal, Chad Johnson and Brian Maxwell also feature on the fight card.
