Khabib Nurmagomedov’s UFC return – a talk that will never die until the Russian ages

Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement after beating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in October 2020.

However, speculations remained afloat that he would make a return to the promotion after a brief hiatus. But, the Russian put an end to all this in the month of March, earlier this year, confirming his retirement officially.

Despite there being little to no chance of the Dagestani coming back, reporters and journalists keep bombarding him with the same old question about his return to the UFC.

In a recent interaction with RT Sport, Khabib was asked if he would return to the UFC if fellow Dagestani, Islam Makhachev progresses to the title fight and loses it.

Khabib replied that he doesn’t have any desire of making a comeback:

“Well, it looks like I have already let everybody know what’s up. Did you watch my last fight? That was firsthand, wasn’t it? I don’t think, anything will change. Islam Makhachev has his own way. I have mine. If Islam fails, he is capable of taking care of himself. But we will be next to him – to help and never let him fail. As for myself, I don’t have any desire to come back. And I don’t think I ever will.” [via RT Sport YouTube]
