Khabib Nurmagomedov was quick to comment on the loss and broken ankle Conor McGregor suffered at UFC 264
Khabib Nurmagomedov was one of the many from the millions watching UFC 264 closely.
The former UFC Lightweight champion had faced both Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier and got wins against both of them.
The Eagle might be retired from the UFC but there is still a rivalry with McGregor too. McGregor has said a lot of things that cannot be printed to Khabib when the pair met a few years ago.
The Irishman was back at it as he brought up Poirier’s wife, and well, it was McGregor who got the loss.
McGregor suffered a broken ankle late in the first round and the fight was stopped due to a doctor’s stoppage.
McGregor and Poirier both shot off insults to each other, but Khabib was firmly in the Diamond’s corner.
“Good always defeats evil.
“Very happy for @DustinPoirier I hope you will get the belt end of the year”
Poirier should be facing Charles Oliveira for the UFC Lightweight title next, and it will be interesting to see how things go.
Conor McGregor leaves on a stretcher
McGregor had also commented that Poirier would be the one leaving on a stretcher after UFC 264. However, things don’t always go the way you want and it was McGregor who had to leave on a stretcher as his ankle needed a lot of support.
Khabib also brought this up as Chamatkar Sandhu confirmed that McGregor left with some medical help.
It will be interesting to see how long McGregor is out for. The Irishman suffered some leg problems the last time he fought Poirier, and it was tragic to see the fight end this way,
McGregor spoke about a fought fight and continuing the rivalry, but first, he needs to get back to 100%.
