Khamzat Chimaev is undefeated in his MMA career, like Khabib Nurmagomedov and earned a lot of praise from the Russian star

Many have suggested that there are shades of Khabib Nurmagomedov in rising UFC star Khamzat Chimaev.

Chimaev broke into the UFC scene a couple of months back and has won all his three fights by submission or KO.

The 26-year-old is 9-0 in his MMA career, has won his three UFC fights in 66 days, and has been called “special” by Dana White.

However, the thoughts of a top star like Khabib could weigh slightly more than White’s. Khabib is 28-0 in his MMA career and was recently asked if Khamzat was the real deal.

The Russian agreed with that nothing and hinted at one reason why he is the next big thing in the UFC.

“Of course, he finish all his opponents. What do you think?”

Ali Abdelaziz, the manager of Khabib posted the snippet of the interview on his social media feed.

The Egyptian was pleased seeing the praise for Khamzat from Khabib, but the Russian also shared some plans for the Swede’s next UFC fight:

“I think he deserve. Ali told me, because we have same manager, that he [Chimaev] is going to fight five rounds against a tough opponent in December.

“Main event in UFC is very good attention. Good opportunity for him.”

There was more to come from Khabib too. The 28-0 star believed one more win would get Khamzat into title contention.

“If he wins this fight, next fight he deserves contender fight.”

The UFC wants to make a ton of money from Khamzat and the Swede just wants to fight. The 26-year-old spoke about taking on top stars such as Wonderboy Thompson and Demian Maia.

However, the UFC is yet to finalise who he faces in the main event of his next fight. White certainly is banking on Khamzat being a top star and it could just be a matter of time before he has UFC gold around his waist.
