Khabib Nurmagomedov has signed for Russian League’s third-tier football club FC Legion Dynamo Makhachkala
It was coming! The world knew that Khabib Nurmagomedov will become a professional footballer someday, but no one ever expected it to be this quick.
Khabib who is a big fan of the beautiful game, never misses a game of football with his teammates during practice.
Since retiring in October 2020, he has been taking up the sport quite seriously.
A couple of months ago, he was seen scoring a stunning solo goal. Posting the same on Instagram, Khabib mentioned FC Legion Dynamo in his caption.
The club’s chairman offered a contract for Khabib soon after that, and now ‘The Eagle’ has finally put pen to paper.
The news was first reported by Russian media giants RT Sport and by MMA Sound on Instagram.
It is worth noting that Khabib loves football more than MMA. He has spoken about the same in several interviews.
FC Legion Dynamo was founded just 6 years ago
FC Legion Dynamo is a team from Makhachkala, the capital of the Republic of Dagestan. They were founded only in 2015, and were initially known as FC Legion Makhachkala.
It was only in the 2016-17 season that they came to be known as FC Legion Dynamo Makhachkala or simply FC Legion Dynamo.
Shamil Lakhiyalov is the chairman of the team, while Renat Izbulatov is the manager. The team plies its trade in the Football National League 2 which is the third level of Russian Professional Football.
FC Legion Dynamo is comprised fully of Russians.
