Khabib Nurmagomedov and Kamaru Usman were training together ahead of UFC 261

UFC lightweight legend Khabib Nurmagomedov and current welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, were training together ahead of UFC 261.

The video, uploaded by The Face of the Fight Game on YouTube, sees Kamaru, Khabib, and various other team members sparring in the gym.

The video pans to Kamaru Usman just a few seconds in where he is shown on top of Ramazan Kuramagomedov. Ramazan is an up-and-coming pro-MMA fighter from Russia.

His debut UFC fight, against Alex Oliveira at UFC Vegas 20, unfortunately, did not go through. Khabib, on the other hand, was seen trying to choke out his training partner right at the end of the video.

Khabib recently revealed on his social media account that he has been training with his brothers, Usman and Abubakar.

He puts his trust in them and calls them ‘next in line‘ for UFC greatness. Khabib and Kamaru have been seeing more of each other recently, with the two spotted sharing a meal earlier this month.

Usman has himself a title fight again. And it comes just a few weeks after he beat Gilbert Burns at UFC 258 for his third-straight title defence.

He will take on Jorge Masvidal for the welterweight belt at UFC 261 which is scheduled to take place in front of a full crowd at Jacksonville, Florida, on April 24th.

The two met earlier at UFC 251 where ‘Gamebred’ had to step in for the title fight on a 6-day notice due to Burns testing positive for Covid-19.

The fight went the distance but ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ won comfortably over 5 rounds. Masvidal would be hoping things are different now.

He hasn’t fought since his loss to Usman and would be hoping to avoid back-to-back UFC losses for the first time since 2017.
