It was a night to remember for Khabib Nurmagomedov and his American Kickboxing Academy teammates at UFC 267
Khabib Nurmagomedov was a picture of elation as his fellow American Kickboxing Academy teammates Islam Makhachev and Zubaira Tukhugov registered important wins at UFC 267.
Tukhugov took on Ricardo Ramos in the prelims card of UFC 267. The two featherweights went back and forth in a high-voltage clash.
In the end, Tukhugov emerged victorious via. unanimous decision after outstriking Ramos. He scored 29-28 on all three judges’ scorecards.
A while later, in the main card, Makhachev faced Dan Hooker in an important lightweight clash.
Coming off an eight-fight winning streak, Makhachev was the overwhelming favourite to see off the Kiwi, and he did exactly that.
Just a few minutes into the first round, Makhachev executed a Kimura to earn a submission win.
Khabib’s joy knew no bounds as he jumped onto the cage to embrace the victorious Makhachev.
More recently, Khabib took to Twitter to express his delight and thank coach Javier Mendez of the American Kickboxing Academy.
He wrote:
“Yesterday was our day. @akajav thank you so much, you are the best.”
Islam Makhachev celebrates win with Hasbulla
Islam Makhachev celebrated his victory with Internet sensation Hasbulla who was there sitting in the front row, cheering for him.
The Russian lifted Hasbulla following his win. A while later Khabib, Makhachev and crew posed for the picture with Hasbulla.
