Khamzat Chimaev was excellent in his second UFC fight against Rhys McKee

Rising UFC star Khamzat Chimaev picked up another impressive win on Fight Island as he defeated Rhys McKee in the first round.

Chimaev already made a huge splash in the UFC on his debut by defeating John Phillips with relative ease.

However, the 26-year-old wasn’t done as he wanted another fight on short notice. The UFC obliged and this clash was in the Welterweight division while the one with Phillips was a Middleweight clash.

Chimaev certainly has gotten a lot of people talking and winning these two clashes saw him break a few records in the UFC.

Ariel Helwani confirmed that Chimaev had won two fights in 10 days in two different divisions, a first in the UFC.

However, that wasn’t enough for Chimaev. This was also the quickest turnaround time between wins, and that counts for something, even if McKee also took the fight on short notice.

Total domination in two fights

The 26-year-old looks like the next big thing in the UFC and wants a shot at the belt. He could go for the Welterweight clash or the Middleweight one and it will be interesting to see how he goes about that.

Chimaev also claimed that he was ready for another fight in an hour’s time, and not many would doubt that fact.

The 26-year-old also has dominated both his rivals since coming into the UFC. He is 8-0 now but the numbers highlight just how great the rising MMA star has been.

Chimaev has outlanded his opponents 192-2 over his last two fights. He landed 68 strikes on McKee with his rival not hitting him back. He put up impressive numbers against Phillips too as he landed 124 strikes to just two from his rival.

Chimaev certainly is one to keep an eye on, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
