Khamzat Chimaev took a shot at Conor McGregor after the loss to Dustin Poirier

There were a lot of eyes on UFC 257 as the main event saw Conor McGregor take on Dustin Poirier in a huge rematch.

Many believed that McGregor would get the win and the Irishman was also talking the talk. However, it was Poirier who won the fight thanks to some incredible leg kicks and also a crazy combination of punches.

The action happened in the second round and The Diamond put his name in the hat for the Lightweight title.

McGregor looked down and out after the punches and there was one UFC star that seemed to enjoy it a lot.

Khamzat and McGregor have had a bit of a rivalry and it seems the Swede has won this round. He has called out McGregor in the past for a fight, but it seems he won’t get a shot at the Irishman at the moment.

McGregor also injured his leg in the fight and was seen hobbling, but this was the first time the Irishman was TKO/KO in his MMA career.

Khamzat’s time to shine?

The Swede, for his part, also has a tough job in his next outing. Leon Edwards is one of the top stars in the UFC, despite not fighting for over a year.

Khamzat is one of the few undefeated stars in the UFC and a win over Edwards could put him in the title scene.

The Swede was to meet Edwards last year but Covid ensured that both stars needed more time to recover from positive tests.

This is also set to be one of the biggest fights in 2021, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top when the pair meet in March 2021.
