Khamzat Chimaev beat Jack Hermansson in a freestyle wrestling match in Sweden
Khamzat Chimaev was back in action once again, this time not in the UFC, but in a freestyle wrestling match.
‘The Borz’ took on UFC’s Jack Hermansson in a freestyle wrestling match at Bulldog Fight Night 9 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The match was contested for 2 three-minute rounds at 187 pounds.
Chimaev was already 23-0 up in his senior freestyle wrestling career. After taking up professional MMA, he had hardly contested in wrestling bouts.
His last match was in June 2018 at the Sweden National Wrestling Championships. Chimaev won the Gold medal that night.
Taking on Hermansson, in his 24th match, Chimaev started off with a massive throw, putting Hermansson on the backfoot. He ended up winning, 8-0. He had hardly had any trouble seeing off the Swede.
It is worth noting that Chimaev competes in the welterweight division of the UFC, while Hermansson in the middleweight division.
