Khamzat Chimaev set to particpate in a wrestling match against Jack Hermansson
UFC welterweight Khamzat Chimaev is set to take on Jack Hermansson in an event called BullDog Fight Night 9 on November 19th. The event will be headlined by a wrestling match featuring Chimaev and Hermansson and will feature a variety of combat sports matches.
The two fighters met at the weigh-ins recently and kept it respectful towards each other. In a video posted by MMAFighting.com, Chimaev and Hermansson were also seen staring down at each other at the weigh-ins.
Both fighters are extremely competitive and they will certainly forget their respect for each other when they hit the wrestling mat. It is worth noting that both have some solid wrestling background also. Although it is not in the UFC, Chimaev has been presented with a challenging opportunity to showcase his wrestling abilities against a seasoned UFC veteran.
What’s next for Khamzat Chimaev?
Chimaev is coming off yet another dominating victory in the UFC. He fought Li Jigliang at the UFC 267 and also finished him in round one to go 4-0 in his UFC career. The Swede is undoubtedly one of the biggest if not the biggest rising stars in the company.
Having recently broken into the top ten welterweight rankings in the UFC, Chimaev is eyeing to fight some big names. This could lead up to a potential fight with Kamaru Usman which he feels he’s ready for. As of now he is rumored to take on Gilbert Burns and also Belal Muhammad next.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for him, and also how long does the Chimaev hype train continues.
