Khamzat Chimaev took to Twitter to fire a warning to welterweight champion Kamaru Usman
Khamzat Chimaev is one of the most talked-about welterweights in recent times. The number 11 ranked fighter has hardly been tested since joining the UFC.
He is currently 4-0 in the promotion and is unbeaten in his MMA career as well. Many believe that ‘The Borz’ might soon become the welterweight champ.
Here onwards, Chimaev’s upcoming opponents will certainly be battle-tested ones. He is expected to face top-ranked Gilbert Burns soon.
More recently, Chimaev warned welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, saying that he was the ‘king here and he would smash him and Burns in 2 minutes.
His Tweet came in the wake of news about Usman possibly moving up to middleweight began circulating.
The Tweet read:
“So your trying to change weight before I come for you? Don’t go anywhere I am coming! I smash you and burns in 2 mins believe me! I’m THE KING here @USMAN84kg.”
It is worth noting that Chimaev has been calling out welterweight bigwigs ever since his destruction of Li Jingliang at UFC 267 in October 2021.
Khamzat Chimaev followed it up with an edited image of himself putting Usman to sleep. The snap was actually Jose Caceres submitting Usman during ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’s early MMA days.
To date, that is Usman’s only loss in his glorious MMA career.
Since that loss, Usman has never looked back. He has won 19 straight fights including conquering the UFC’s welterweight division to the fullest.
