The returning welterweight superstar shared his prediction for the highly anticipated rematch between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington
Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington will have millions watching when they face off at the Madison Square Garden in one of the fiercest rivalries in modern MMA history.
The two previously fought back in UFC 245 (December 2019), in what is considered by many to be one of the greatest welterweight bouts of all time.
Usman ended up winning the fight via. TKO just when it looked like it was heading to a decision. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ had ‘The Chaos’ jaw broken.
2 years later, they will square off in front of a packed Madison Square Garden at UFC 268.
Usman has put up three successful title defenses since his win against Covington, whereas Covington has just fought once (a W against Tyron Woodley).
With the fight inching closer, UFC welterweight Khamzat Chimaev shared his prediction for the Usman-Covington rematch.
Speaking to the media ahead of UFC 267, ‘The Borz’ said when asked for his prediction:
“I think Kamaru actually and maybe will be decision if nobody gets injured during the fight.”
Khamzat Chimaev returns to action this weekend
Khamzat Chimaev will finally make his much-anticipated return to the Octagon this weekend. ‘The Borz’ will take on Li Jingliang, the number 11 ranked welterweight from China.
Having run through three of his opponents within a few months into his debut, Chimaev was struck with health issues that had him sidelined for over a year.
It is worth noting that his fight against top-ranked welterweight Leon Edward was cancelled multiple times.
