Joaquin Buckley wanted to face Darren Till but got Khamzat Chimaev in the way
Khamzat Chimaev and Darren Till have been the most unlikely of friends ever since the Englishman decided to train with the rising Swede.
The pair seem inseparable now and Till was in the corner of Chimaev in the Swede’s win over Gilbert Burns at UFC 273.
A lot of footage has been shared of Till and Chimaev spending time backstage, and another clip was shared recently.
This one saw Joaquin Buckley ask Darren Till for a fight later on. Chimaev didn’t know who he was and later on went on to say that Buckley should not be speaking like a “gangster” and he would “f***” him up.
Till might be out of action for a while but messing with Chimaev isn’t the best idea. The Swede is undefeated in his MMA career and did pick up a decent enough win over Burns.
Till has lost his last two fights in the Octagon and hasn’t fought since September 2021. He made a return to Middleweight and it will be interesting to see who the UFC might have set for him.
Till is still a big name for the UFC, and he is just 29.
Chimaev, on the other hand, has the UFC Welterweight title on his mind. He defeated former challenger Burns in a close encounter but only added more value to his name.
The Swede might need to take on another big name before facing Kamaru Usman, who is undefeated in his UFC career.
Till and Chimaev might be in different stages in their careers, but the pair can get a lot of fans excited every time they step in the Octagon.
