Khamzat Chimaev has won in the Welterweight and Middleweight divisions since his UFC debut

Swedish star Khamzat Chimaev took part in a small interview with Chael Sonnen on the other side.

The Swede has caught the attention of many after his excellent debut in the UFC and is 2-0 in the promotion.

Chimaev first fought in the Middleweight division and defeated John Phillips easily. He then asked for another fight and got it in the Welterweight division just 10 days later.

However, Chimaev not only cut weight ahead of the clash but won it in impressive fashion too. The 26-year-old is one of the rising stars in the UFC and Sonnen wanted to know which division the Swede would be seen in more.

While Chimaev is comfortable in both divisions, he named the 170-pound division as the one where he was interested in competing for more:

“I think more you will see me at 170 but if they give me good fights in both weights, I can fight better, it’s no problem.”

Chimaev also shared a big prediction ahead of a huge clash.

Usman vs Burns

Kamaru Usman vs Gilbert Burns should take place soon. Usman vs Burns should have happened at UFC 251, however, the Brazilian had to be replaced after testing positive for Covid-19.

That saw Jorge Masvidal come into the picture but Usman got the win in the end. Sonnen asked who would win this Welterweight clash and Chimaev backed the champion to keep his title:

“I think it’s going to go four or five rounds. I think Usman will win this fight with a decision. We will see more of clinch and wrestling.”

Usman used a lot of the clinch in his win over Masvidal and there were the important foot stomps too. It will be interesting to see who is next for Chimaev with his eyes set on the gold.

The confident Swede also said he just wanted to “smash” and fight in the UFC and believed he would defeat anyone that came in his way.
