Khamzat Chimaev wants a piece of Israel Adesanya and taunted the UFC Middleweight Champion recently
Khamzat Chimaev might be fighting Leon Edwards next but Borz already has his sights on Israel Adesanya.
The Swede is 9-0 in his MMA career and has impressed in all of his UFC outings. Edwards would be the biggest challenge in his short but eventful MMA career but he seems confident of getting the win.
Edwards is a former contender for the UFC Welterweight title and a win for Chimaev should see him break into the rankings.
However, the 26-year-old also wants a piece of Adesanya. The pair have quarrelled in the past with Adesanya not being too impressed with the Swede’s wins. Adesanya wanted Chimaev to beat someone who is ranked and that could happen against Edwards.
Chimaev had posted a hint that he wanted to fight Adesanya soon yesterday and then taunted the UFC Middleweight Champion with a clip.
This was from one of Chimaev’s earlier fights as he lifted an opponent, carried him across the Octagon and slammed him hard on the mat.
Chimaev also taunted Adesanya by saying if the champion wanted to fly:
Chimaev vs Adesanya would be an incredible fight but the champion has the edge now. Adesanya has defeated and dominated most of his rivals and his last fight was an example of that.
Some believed that the then-undefeated Paulo Costa could get the better of Adesanya. However, the champion dominated Costa and got a quick and easy win.
Adesanya also has an incredible kickboxing record and he too is undefeated in his MMA career. The Last Stylebender is 20-0 so far in the Octagon and it will be interesting to see how he does against Jan Blachowicz next.
Adesanya is keen to win the UFC Light Heavyweight title too and become a double champ. Chimaev vs Adesanya could be a blockbuster in the making, especially if both stars remain unbeaten for the next few months.
