The Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung, takes on Brian Ortega in his next fight
The Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung, will headline the next UFC event as he faces Brian Ortega in a much-anticipated clash.
Jung is coming off a couple of brilliant wins over Renato Moicano and Frankie Edgar. And this would be his first UFC outing in almost a year.
The South Korean had already missed a couple of years in the UFC thanks to his mandatory military training. His last fight before that was up against Jose Aldo for the UFC Featherweight title. However, the Zombie was knocked out by Aldo.
The Schmo was speaking to the Korean Zombie, via a translator, and he was confident why the Ortega clash wouldn’t be similar to Aldo’s.
His translator, coach Eddie Cha went on to to say:
“When he fought Aldo, he didn’t have proper coaching, proper coaches. Now he is fight ready and a team behind him.”
The coach also revealed that the team had a training camp in South Korea with two weeks in quarantine and then six weeks of proper action.
Not the easiest to drop
The Schmo reminded Zombie that he had 14 finishes from his 16 wins, and if there was a chance of a similar outcome against Ortega.
Jung told, via his coach, that he didn’t intend to end his rivals and backed Ortega to be a tough opponent:
“He never tries to finish fights, it just happens that way. Ortega is a tough opponent, he has been hit over 300 times in his last fight vs Holloway, he was still standing, so it will be tough to finish him.”
Jung also believed that Max Holloway had won the second bout against champion, Alexander Volkanovski.
The Korean was confident heading into the fight and believed he would get a title shot after the win over Ortega.
He didn’t believe ring rust would be a factor and added that he was fired up for his next UFC outing.
