The Korean Zombie relinquishes retirement ideas that he had following the devastating loss at UFC 273

UFC 273 featured a main event clash between The Korean Zombie and Alexander Volkanovski. The Zombie left no stones unturned in preparation for the fight seeking to become the first Korean UFC champion. However, his dreams were shattered by the ‘Volk’ who put on one of the most dominant championship defense fights ever.

Talks of retirement immediately surfaced the internet as the fans were worried for their beloved fighter’s future. Almost two months later, “The Korean Zombie” has taken to his Instagram account to reveal that he won’t be rushing to the decision of hanging his gloves just yet (h/t MMAJunkie.com).

He stated that currently his motivation lies in fighting one more time at his hometown Seoul.

“Perhaps I’m old, maybe I’m not good enough, so my goal was to always show everything in every fight, but I didn’t show up every time, so that is why I’m still here,” Jung wrote in Korean. “I couldn’t prove it in the last fight, and I’m especially disappointed. This is not an excuse for the loss. I just have some regrets. I’m not saying that it wasn’t 100 percent me, but I think it is right to put on a performance that I believe in, so that is why I want one more fight. I can’t set any long-term goals. For the time being, one fight… I’ll do it in Seoul. Please hold an event.”

‘Let’s do this’- Giga Chikadze calls for a fight against The Korean Zombie

Giga Chikadze was once tipped to be the brightest prospect in the featherweight division, capable of dethroning the featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. However, after being thoroughly outclassed by Calvin Kattar in his last fight, Chikadze has been training relentlessly for making a proper comeback.

Chikadze was talking the big game ahead of his fight against Calvin Kattar claiming that The Korean Zombie did not deserve the title shot at UFC 273. It all began when Max Holloway pulled out of the originally scheduled bout against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 273. Chikadze volunteered to step in as a replacement and even put forward his case for being the immediate title contender.

“He told Dana White he will fight anyone, except me. I made a living knocking out midgets all my life but I never knocked out midget does steroid cheater,” said Chikadze on Twitter.

Having lost to Calvin Kattar in a lopsided contest, Chikadze is on his path to rebuilding his brand, and has now called for a fight against The Korean Zombie by posting fan art on Twitter. He captioned the post,
