The latest injury update confirmed that Kris Moutinho has been released from the hospital
Kris Moutinho put on a warrior’s performance against the fast-rising Sean O’Malley in the fight that kicked off the UFC 264 main card.
O’Malley won the fight in the final round via. TKO with just 30 seconds left on the clock. Although he landed a boatload of significant strikes more than Moutinho, the newcomer showed immense determination and heart.
Had it not been for Herb Dean’s controversial stoppage, the fight would have gone the distance, and Moutinho would have got more credit than he has been getting now.
Nevertheless, Moutinho received praise from all around the globe. Definitely beyond impressive for a UFC debutant.
Moutinho was hit with a fusillade of shots but still ate it like a champion. Despite standing on the feet following his loss, Moutinho did seem injured.
He was taken to the hospital after the fight. The latest update is that Moutinho has been released from the local hospital. The news was first reported by Mike Heck of MMA Fighting.
“I’m told that Kris Moutinho has been released from a local hospital after his FOTN bonus earning debut against Sean O’Malley. All scans were clear.”
Sean O’Malley and Kris Moutinho win Fight of the Night Bonuses
O’Malley was the clear winner, but Moutinho won hearts. The performance earned both the fighters the Fight of the Night Bonus.
They were awarded $75,000 each for their stunning show.
Though Moutinho didn’t have the debut he would have wanted, he would be happy to walk home with the $75,000 in his very first match.
