WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle brushed off Conor McGregor breaking his ankle at UFC 264
Conor McGregor broke his ankle against Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 264. The horrific injury took place at the very end of the first round as The Irishman landed awkwardly on the canvas, with his left foot.
The fight was awarded to Poirier via. TKO due to a doctor stoppage. He thereby settled the scores in the rivalry and also earned a title shot against lightweight champion Charles Oliveira.
A devastated McGregor fumed and erupted like a madman at the post-fight interview denoting that he needed a quadrilogy soon.
Elsewhere, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle brushed off McGregor’s injury saying that it was no big deal, before going onto state that he broke his ankle on a regular basis.
Angle wrote on Twitter:
“So…. @TheNotoriousMMA broke his freakin’ ankle this past weekend. Big deal. I break my ankle all of the time. I broke my ankle this morning and I’m jumping around right now!! I even won a gold medal with a broken freakin neck too.”
It is worth noting that Kurt Angle is an Olympic Gold Medalist at the 1996 Summer Olympics.
Conor McGregor’s boxing rival Floyd Mayweather took to Instagram to mock the Irishman. Posting an edited image of McGregor seated on the couch which showed the Irishman’s left foot completely out of place, Mr. Money wrote:
“Y’all got it twisted! I like how his shoes fit. Now, do the stanky leg.”
McGregor and Mayweather fought in a professional boxing match in August 2017. Mayweather won the fight via. TKO in the 10th round.
