Germaine de Randamie made light work of Julianna Pena with a guillotine choke
Dutch legend Germain de Randamie put on an excellent show against Julianna Pena and got the win via a guillotine choke.
The 36-year-old is ranked #1 in the UFC Women’s Bantamweight division but lost her last fight to Amanda Nunes.
That didn’t seem to factor in this fight as she took the down the younger Pena via the guillotine choke. The hold was locked extremely tightly and by the time the referee called off the hold, Pena was unconscious and out cold.
This was, surprisingly, De Randamie’s first submission win in his MMA career and the Dutch legend now holds a record of 10 wins and four losses.
De Randamie, who is a police officer and worked as a psychiatric nurse before trying out her MMA career, was also undefeated in his kickboxing career.
This win certainly got many talking and a couple of UFC stars gushed after the win.

Looking for another title shot?
De Randamie is a former UFC Featherweight champion and fought Nunes for the Bantamweight title.
This win might put her back into title contention and Angela Hill was extremely pleased after the win for the Dutchwoman:
Woooooow ok I’m fangirling hard now. #UFCFightIsland4

Lauren Murphy, another UFC star, shared some of the facts of De Randamie and was equally impressed:
“Germaine de Randamie. What a lady. Holy smokes. Police officer, former UFC champ, all around class act. Awesome win”

While the 36-year-old is still the best bet to face Nunes, another fighter got a huge win at the event. Holly Holm picked up a unanimous win over Irene Aldana in the main event, and she could be back in the running too.
Holm is a former Bantamweight champion in the UFC and has defeated Raquel Pennington too, and it will be interesting to see who is next for Nunes.
