Chael Sonnen doesn’t mince his words and his target this time was boxing great Anthony Joshua
UFC legend Chael Sonnen got a new target to hit out at and it was boxing great Anthony Joshua.
Joshua recently posted a video of him hitting a punching bag and this was shared by another fan. However, Sonnen took offence to the 31-year-old’s technique and blasted him. Sonnen couldn’t decide if Joshua was lazy or too disciplined in the video and didn’t enjoy it one bit.
Another fan questioned Sonnen’s decision to blast Joshua on the basis of some training videos. However, the UFC great brought up how Joshua never seems to be working up a sweat in all of his training videos.
Sonnen goes on a tear
This isn’t the first time Sonnen has targeted a sportsperson. He went off when Wayne Rooney, one of the greatest English footballers, was celebrating his son joining Manchester United.
Sonnen’s take on the training videos was hilarious, to say the least, and he brought up a ton of comparisons.
One was about Joshua using the telegram when scientists couldn’t travel that far back in time:
Sonnen then brought up a classic art piece, David by Michelangelo too:
The UFC legend ended his tirade against the boxing champion. He first blasted him for his calendar and then brought up how the gloves might be a little too heavy for him.
Sonnen is known for his rants, especially on his YouTube channel and podcast, but this was something else.
The UFC legend is free to say what he wants and there must have been something in the past that brought out this side of Sonnen.
Joshua has just one loss to his name, which came against Andy Ruiz Jr in June 2019. He lost the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles but won those back in his next fight against the same opponent.
The 31-year-old last defeated Kubrat Pulev in December 2020 and has a boxing record of 24 wins and just one loss.
