Tyron Woodley is above Leon Edwards in the latest UFC Welterweight rankings

Leon Edwards was not a happy man after the latest UFC Welterweight rankings came out.

Rocky took to Twitter to voice his displeaser over one particular position. Edwards was fourth in the rankings but fell down a spot in the latest one.

Colby Covington is still second for Kamaru Usman’s title while Jorge Masvidal is third. Gilbert Burns moved up to the top after defeating Tyron Woodley recently. However, Woodley is still placed above Edwards, who slipped a spot while Woodley lost three places.

Burns moved five spots to the top after his devastating win over Woodley, and that got Edwards talking:

“How’s a guy coming off 2 back to back dominating loses above me”

Woodley is the former Welterweight champion, but his two losses have been huge. Burns dominated the former champion, and many were surprised as to how easily Woodley was beaten.

The former champ did come out on social media and said he just wasn’t good enough on the night, but Edwards has every right to be upset at the moment.

A missed opportunity for Edwards

Edwards was Woodley’s opponent for Fight Night but the coronavirus pandemic stopped that clash from taking place.

The British star was left in the UK and unable to make it to the US for the fight. Edwards is still on an eight-fight win streak and placing him below Woodley is a little questionable.

All this rescheduling for the UFC has worked out a treat for Burns though. The Brazilian was excellent against Woodley and is now the No.1 contender.

Burns has also called out the champion Usman, and it will be interesting to see how they go about it. Usman and Burns are training partners and should face soon.

Edwards, unfortunately, lost out in all this and hopefully, he features in action soon.
