Jake Paul responds to Nate Diaz’s challenge for a 12-round fight based on steroids allegations
Jake Paul has addressed allegations of steroid use made by his prospective boxing opponent, Nate Diaz. On August 5th, Paul and Diaz will square off in Dallas, Texas, at the American Airlines Centre.
Nate Diaz has lately asked for an additional four rounds to make the total number of rounds in the fight a round number. The Stockton native posted the following on Twitter:
“12 rounds. Ur on steroids so let’s put that shit to work”
Diaz did not tag Paul in the Tweet, but on Friday night, ‘The Problem Child’ responded:
“You speaking to me Nathan? We haven’t forgotten that you tested positive for steroids. You and your boyfriend Connor are juice heads. Let’s do 15 rounds and see how good those cannabis corroded lungs are. VADA going to be coming to Stockton to slap you up.”
After a wild weekend in New Orleans involving the former UFC title challenger, Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz appeared to be in jeopardy, but a representative for Diaz said he is free to travel after posting bond.
Now that getting to the fight won’t be a problem, it should be held this summer as planned. Diaz’s (21-13 MMA, 0-0 Boxing) last bout was against Tony Ferguson in September of last year at UFC 279. He won the fight by submission. After suffering his first professional defeat against Tommy Fury by split decision in February, Jake Paul (6-1 Boxing) will be eager to get back on track.
Daniel Cormier weighs in on the upcoming Nate Diaz vs. Jake Paul clash
UFC legend Daniel Cormier has spoken out about the forthcoming boxing showdown between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz, advising the younger Diaz brother not to underestimate the YouTuber.
Cormier recently uploaded a video to his YouTube channel where he discussed the fight and warned Diaz about potential pitfalls in his match with Paul. In his words:
“I don’t know how much I like the fight… Jake’s going to be big for Diaz. Jake is also improving as a boxer… And that’s the worry… Nate can be hit, and this guy’s going to be bigger than Nate… It’s going to be a very tough fight for Diaz… Can Diaz outbox him? Yeah… I think Diaz’s ability to outwork people is what’s going to be his biggest advantage in this fight.”
