Logan Paul has expressed his interest in making a good UFC run, and wants ‘big-mouthed’ Paddy Pimblett to be his first fight
It all began when UFC president Dana White made an appearance on the latest episode of ‘Impaulsive with Logan Paul’, and discussed his journey in the business, and UFC’s plans for the future. When asked about the possibility of Logan Paul fighting inside the UFC by Maverick himself, a member of the podcast team, White said, “Well, who would you want to fight? [It’s different] You have wrestling and boxing. You’ve done jiu-jitsu, right? I’m not saying no. I’m not saying no.”
The Youtuber turned boxer also made his WWE debut at Wrestlemania 38 as The Miz’s tag team partner, and has mentioned several times in the past that competing inside the UFC banner is an item on his bucket list. The older Paul brother has also trained with several UFC fighters including the likes of Paulo Costa in the past.
Paul made an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani and discussed his dream WWE debut, his desire to make a good UFC run, and his potential opponent for the future. He has set his sights on Paddy Pimblett, the 27-year-old Liverpudlian who’s taken the MMA world by storm. The star attraction at the triumphant UFC London event, Paddy Pimblett has been tipped to become the next Europen superstar to prosper and thrive globally.
“They’re saying he’s possibly the next Conor McGregor, right?” Paul said. “He’s super charismatic, he’s entertaining as hell, he’s on the come up, he’s young like me, he’s got a real loud mouth. I just like the way he can perform. I think also, in the off season, he can come up like 25 pounds. The kid blows up in the off season, I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s like someone put a pump in him and [blows him up]. So he can get up to 185 and I can get down to 185 and possibly do a UFC match.”
Will the UFC and Dana White ever allow this fight to materialize is a question for the future.
Logan Paul also discussed the time he travelled to Sweden and met the hottest new prospect in MMA, Khamzat Chimaev. Paul was at the All Star Training Centre in Sweden, a place that forged and bred warriors like Alexander Gustafsson, Ilir Latifi and Chimaev now.
Ariel Helwani spoke about potential names of MMA opponents for a fight against Paul, and said that UFC star Khamzat Chimaev was amongst the first to raise his hand to fight Paul.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani he said, ‘ I went to Sweden to train for a couple of weeks, and I went to this gym [All Star]. There was this guy who kept staring at me, big beard, looked like a badass.. and I realized later that the guy was Khamzat Chimaev’
