Former UFC fighter Luis Pena was arrested once again – his third arrest in only 5 months
Things have been going south for former UFC Fighter Luis Pena. In the last five months he has already been arrested thrice.
According to popular MMA reporter Aaron Bronsteter of TSN, the former UFC lightweight is currently facing four charges viz. battery, battery causing physical harm, criminal mischief and domestic violence.
The troubled fighter is currently held at Paul Rein Detention Center in Florida.
Only a month ago, Pena faced his second arrest, following which he was released from the UFC. He had been arrested in charges of battery and domestic violence.
It is worth noting that Pena has been suffering from mental and substance abuse issues which has been the primary reason for his troubles.
Luis Pena made his MMA debut on the 17th of September, 2016. After going 4-0 up in two years, he made it to the UFC.
He made his promotional debut on the 6th of July, 2018 against Richie Smullen at the Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated Finale and started off with a submission win in the first round.
His last fight was against Alexander Munoz on the 17th of April, 2021 at UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs Gastelum – a split decision win for Pena.
Only after this, Pena’s troubles with the law began.
His MMA record reads 9 wins and 3 losses.
