Luis Pena has been arrested for the second time this year
UFC star Luis Pena was recently arrested by the Deerfield Beach Police. It is being reported that the 28 year old UFC fighter was arrested on charges of misdemeanor, domestic violence and battery. Pena was arrested on Saturday and was taken to the Broward County Jai.
The misdemeanor battery charge has bond set at $1000 whereas, domestic violence charge does not have a listed bond amount. This will require further bond hearing. This is not his first arrest of the year as the fighter was also arrested back in June.
At that time he was arrested on accounts of robbery, battery and also criminal mischief. These charges were filed in by his ex-girlfriend. As per the reports of that case, the charges were ultimately dropped as the victim decided to not move forward with the case.
Additional information on Pena’s arrest was later revealed by the Police department (h/t MMA Junkie):
“At approximately 12:34 a.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office Deerfield Beach deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call near the 200 block of Southeast 12th Avenue in Deerfield Beach. On scene, deputies made contact with multiple subjects, and Luis Antonio Peña was later detained and taken into custody. Peña was transported to BSO Main Jail and faces one count simple battery and one count domestic violence battery. The investigation continues.”
There is no certainty on Pena’s future as of now as the investigation is still ongoing. The case has recently been filed and it is reported that he will make a court appearance on Sunday at 8:00 am ET.
Further details can be expected after his hearing. Pena made his most recent UFC appearance back in April this year when he defeated Alexander Munoz.
