Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor were managed by the same team even recently
Manny Pacquiao’s fight against Errol Spence Jr. has been facing uncertainty after his ex-management team Paradigm Sports sued him for $3.3 million.
Paradigm Sports belongs to Audie Attar. It is the same management company that manages Conor McGregor.
The complaint was filed by Attar after Pacquiao, originally a part of Paradigm Sports, decided to join Premier Boxing Champion while Attar was negotiating a fight against Mikey Garcia.
The statement from Paradigm Sports read:
“In addition to the millions of dollars in straightforward economic loss that Paradigm stands to suffer, the damage to its reputation resulting from Pacquiao’s breaches is incalculable. Just when Paradigm was at the cusp of establishing itself as a major player in professional boxing, Pacquiao has left its reputation as a boxing representative in tatters.”
Pacquiao’s fight against Spence is set to take place on the 21st of August, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
It has been almost 2 years since Pacquiao last fought. He beat Keith Thurman via. split decision on the 20th of July, 2019.
Spence, on the other hand, has never lost a single fight. He is currently 27-0 in his boxing career. He is coming off a UD victory over Danny Garcia.
Pacquiao hit back at Attar and Paradigm Sports following their lawsuit. In a statement, ‘The Pacman’ claimed that the lawsuit was just a cheap attempt at foiling his fight plans.
The statement read:
“Paradigm Sports’ lawsuit against me has no merit. Sadly, this frivolous lawsuit intends to distract my preparations for a historic fight. But it does not bother me a bit. My lawyers are on top of this lawsuit and are ready to file counter charges against Paradigm Sports.”
Pacquiao is confident that his lawyers will find a way out, so that he could concentrate on his fight against Spence.
