“Astonishing” – Twitter reacts as Marcos Rogerio de Lima obliterates Ben Rothwell

Marcos Rogerio de Lima wasted no time as he finished veteran Ben Rothwell in just 32 seconds

Marcos Rogerio de Lima landed massive windmills to see off the experienced Ben Rothwell in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs Rodriguez.

In what was a finish-laden night, De Lima did enough to all but secure the Performance of the Night bonus.

No sooner did the bell for the first round sound off than the Brazilian was all over Rothwell. A barrage of strikes landed flush on Rothwell, rocking him.

However, the 40-year old did hang on for a while. But de Lima’s pressure was just too much for him and 32 seconds was all it took for the fight to be called off.

This was De Lima’s knockout number 14. He now has back-to-back wins in the UFC, after beating Maurice Greene and now, Rothwell. His record now reads 19 wins and 7 losses, going along with a draw.

Twitter rushed to congratulate the 36-year old following his brilliant win.

Herb Dean’s officiating questioned once again

Referee Herb Dean’s officiating was once again questioned. There was a point in those 32 seconds where Dean appeared to stop the fight, but let it go once again, only to stop it just a couple of seconds later (after Rothwell sunk to the floor).

A lot of MMA fans were pretty critical of what Dean did.

Nevertheless, Marcos Rogerio de Lima got the job done, and here are a few Twitter reactions.
