Marvin Vettori wants a piece of Israel Adesanya for the third time after ‘The Last Stylebender’ was beaten by Alex Pereira at UFC 281
Alex Pereira is now 3-0 up against arguably the greatest middleweight in MMA. ‘Poatan’ earned a stunning fifth-round TKO win over Israel Adesanya, handing the Nigerian his first defeat in the middleweight division.
The first round between Pereira and Adesanya was more happening than any of ‘The Last Stylebender’s recent fights. With ‘Poatan’ closing in on Izzy for the entire round, the Nigerian had to stay wary and be more active.
Things would have been entirely different if the first round had been longer by 10 seconds. Right on the buzzer, Adesanya landed a big hook that rocked Pereira – making him walk dazed towards his corner.
Pereira found his rhythm in the second round, only to tire as the rounds progressed.
Just when it looked like it was another successful title defense for Adesanya, Pereira landed a right hand, having the Nigerian in all sorts of trouble. A flurry of punches had him rocked before referee Marc Goddard waved off the fight.
With that win, Pereira became the second-least experienced fighter to become a UFC champion, only behind Brock Lesnar.
Elsewhere, top-ranked middleweight Marvin Vettori, who has fought Israel Adesanya twice already (and lost both), called out ‘The Last Stylebender’ for a trilogy fight.
Taking to Twitter, Vettori wrote:
“Me and adesanya again, Let’s fucking go.”
Seeing Vettori’s Tweet, fans thronged to the Italian’s Twitter account to brutally mock him.
