Max Holloway is keen on a Conor McGregor rematch but wants the Irishman to take his time with it

Max Holloway was speaking to Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie about his exceptional win over Calvin Kattar and the Conor McGregor skateboard moment.

Both events were big for Holloway as the win cemented his place for a title shot soon. The former UFC Featherweight Champion also showed off some Muhammad Ali like skills and that got McGregor talking about who the best boxer in the UFC is.

Holloway was also caught skating during a McGregor interview and the former champion confirmed it was him recently.

However, McGregor was open to a rematch against Holloway. The pair met in 2013 and it was McGregor who got the win.

Hannoun asked if Holloway was keen on a rematch, especially after McGregor’s comments and the former champ was willing to take up the clash:

“The beautiful thing about this sport is timing. Timing is everything and you know this, timing is everything so we will see what happens.

“I don’t want to kick a man when he is down or talk about him so let him figure out his stuff and I will be right here.

“Timing is everything in this sport, so we will see what happens.”

Conor McGregor needs to regroup after Dustin Poirier loss

The part about not wanting to kick McGregor down was referring to the UFC 257 main event. McGregor vs Dustin Poirier was a huge fight and it was Poirier who got the win via KO.

Not many expected McGregor to get finished. However, the Irishman is keen on a rematch, something that Dana White and Poirier are also open to.

McGregor has also hinted that he was going back to being the bad guy and it will be interesting to see when he does face Poirier.

White has suggested that this could take place in the summer while that would put the brakes on a Holloway vs McGregor rematch.

Holloway also has big things on his plate with a Featherweight title shot. He has lost to Alexander Volkanovski twice, once in controversial fashion and will be keen to reclaim the belt soon.
