Former UFC women’s featherweight Megan Anderson has become the latest victim of online bullying
Megan Anderson recently competed for the women’s featherweight title at UFC 259, earlier this year. Her quest ended in the very first round, as she was manhandled by the ever-dominant Amanda Nunes.
Despite being presented with an option to extend her contract in the UFC, Anderson decided to leave the promotion. She is currently a free agent, and is yet to land a new promotion.
However, Anderson keeps herself engaged all the time, since she is a hardcore gamer. She regularly streams Call of Duty on Twitch.
Anderson recently took to Twitter to reveal that she has become a victim of cyberbullying. In a screenshot she shared, a user named phantomtex can be seen abusing her with derogatory comments.
Anderson also claimed that someone had threatened to rape her.
A distraught Anderson tweeted:
“This isn’t ok. I’ve also had someone threaten to rape me. You can think I’m ugly, I’m a terrible fighter, I suck at cod; you don’t even have to like me, but do fucking better. I get absolutely harassed and cyber bullied every day as a game, and it’s not ok. We need to do better.”
When will Megan Anderson fight next?
Megan Anderson has found a peaceful home in Twitch. She currently has almost 30k followers, and streams Call of Duty almost everyday.
Following her release from the UFC she even revealed that she would earn more from Twitch than she would in the UFC.
She hasn’t yet hinted at where she would be fighting next. The former women’s featherweight title challenger is only 31, and does have a lot of ‘fight years’ left in her.
